About This Collection:

Waiting for Godot

This series draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s novel Waiting for Godot, where characters remain trapped in a cycle of hesitation and fear—unable to move forward, retreating with every small step. In contrast, the figures in my paintings have broken free from this paralysis. They have not only embraced civil disobedience but transcended it, forging a path of transformation and resilience.

Born from the ashes of personal upheavals—lost love, displacement, or shattered livelihoods—these characters emerge as entirely new beings. Horses and birds serve as metaphors for women: the horse, a bold, avant-garde messenger, embodies power and revolution; the bird, delicate yet relentless, symbolizes migration and freedom. Through their journeys, they navigate the tension between the weight of oppression and the courage to rise above it.

They no longer wait. They defy dictatorships, ignite revolutions, and provoke deep reflection within humanity. This is a story of passion, rebellion, and the power of disruption—an exploration of the restlessness that shatters comfort but yields profound transformation. Their disobedience does not lead to chaos, but to clarity; not to despair, but to a new and resonant awakening.
