They praised your darkness,
warned me of your depth.
I should have known—
it would end in pain.
I knew, and still, I did it.
I listened
and craved the night within you.
I could taste your colors,
and for a long, long time,
I needed nothing more.

Ich habe gelauscht

Sie haben deine Dunkelheit gerühmt
und mich gewarnt vor deiner Tiefe
Es muss mir klar sein, dass es schmerzhaft endet –;
Das wusste ich und tat es doch.
Ich hab gelauscht und hab das Finstre so gewollt.
Ich konnt auch deine Farben schmecken, mehr braucht ich nicht
für lange Zeit.
