Poem: A Rose Is a Rose

A shimmer on a day
that secretly sips from autumn,
too ripe from too much summer.

Welcome to my garden,
where green unfurls
like the wind drives the clouds.

And the rose is simply a rose,
with wings spun of fae-light
in the soft pink shade.

I want to carry its scent home—
but it would be only a memory,
a mere reflection of a rose,

of a day that is almost autumn.

Eine Rose ist eine Rose

Schimmer an einem Tag

der heimlich vom Herbst trinkt

und viel zu reif von lauter Sommer ist

Willkommen in meinem Garten

in dem das Grün so treibt

wie der Wind die Wolken

Und die Rose ist einfach eine Rose

mit Flügeln aus Feenlicht

im zartrosa Schatten

Ich will den Duft nach Hause tragen;

Aber es wäre nur eine Erinnerung

an das Abbild einer Rose

am Abbild eines Tages,

der fast schon Herbst ist.
