Ulrike Pichl

Ulrike Pichl, artist name ulrikesabinechrista, photographs and writes, capturing nature’s liveliness, fragility, gloom, and beauty.
She studied communication design in Nuremberg, graduating in photography in 2010. Since 2008, she has been self-employed in graphics, design, and marketing, running a corporate communications agency with her partner.
Since 2019, she has been photographing impressions from her daily walks and immediate surroundings, as a chronic illness often keeps her at home. Her series Out of My Window documents nature as seen from her house. Her work explores the interplay between visible reality, association, and inner life, accompanied by handwritten texts that capture what images cannot. Light, sharpness, and blurring create a poetic and melancholic atmosphere, emphasizing the fleetingness of each moment.
She has been exhibiting her work at art fairs since 2023, including SupermART in Nuremberg. In 2025, further exhibitions follow at Art Fair Innsbruck, Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, as well as a joint exhibition with the GEDOK art association and a show at White Castle in Heroldsberg.
Experimenting with liquids and grease on the lens, she creates sfumatographies, blending form, color, and light in a dreamlike aesthetic. Visible fragments and smears remain unretouched.
She describes her work as an invitation to embrace life’s fleeting, beautiful, and dark moments. Each piece is unique, signed, and accompanied by a certificate and a handwritten poem.
