Meta Culture

Meta Culture draws inspiration from the Saqqakhaneh School, an art movement that emerged in 20th-century Iran during a time of tension between tradition and modernity. This movement was deeply influenced by the imagery and symbolism of saqqakhanehs—small street-side shrines where people offered their wishes and prayers, reflecting inherited beliefs passed down through generations. These sacred spaces embodied a collective faith, shaped more by tradition than by logic, seamlessly blending spirituality with the cultural fabric of daily life.

However, with the rise of modernity and technology, these inherited beliefs faced profound challenges, prompting individuals to question whether these narratives were truths or merely the imagined constructs of their ancestors—a way to find solace in solitude. The Saqqakhaneh School responded to this shift by preserving the essence of cultural identity while embracing innovation, proving that tradition and progress can coexist.
